Before creating Jewtopia in 2003, Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson were unemployed actors and writers, working odd jobs and just trying to catch a break. Finally wanting to take matters into their own hands, they wrote Jewtopia, racked their credit cards with debt, and mounted the production themselves.
